| 4-Jan-07 | I have been reading your magazine from time to time over the last two years, and it is absolutely fantastic. Being a UW photographer who has recently moved on to filming with a DV U/W, I am stills struggling on how to fix the lack-of-red color movie taken with my JVC DV. It is interesting also to realize that Sony does seem to do a better job in particular with red color. And I found that Sony would lit up dim object which helps tremendously in the final output ... more pleasing to eye. |

I am looking at the 7.5mp from Olympus ( e-330) but would prefer to be able to use some of my nikonos accessories could any body help me . PS I have been doing Above water Photography Profesionally for the last 15 years and am looking for the 10mp Pentax but there are no housings available for that either. Mike |
| 4-Jan-07 | Great journal,have downloaded 25 editions so far. Has helped me with some of my u/water photo techniques. Pics from my last dive in Bali are good in comparison to my first photo dive in Mautitus last year. Just wish my olympus wouldn't take so long to recharge the flash. |

Maybe I missed articles for newbies I was thinking of something more in the range or a Cannon Sureshot or one of the new Ixus models, or something similar from other mfrs. i.e. under 600 euros for the camera & case! -Soemthing adequate for shallow dives down to 10m or 20m in clear waters, to get me started... :-) I was wondering if UwP would be able to help newbies comingh from thi angle...? My wife and I dive about three times per year,usually Mexico or Central America, although Dec 2006 we're going to Micronesia. I would like some more reviews from underwater photo equipment manufacturers like hugyfot, some critiques saying what is not good (99% tests show how goo an item is), and a really extensive research on the history of U/W photography. (see I thought some comments!) I am a friend of Constantinos Petrinos who is also Greek and I have met with Steve Warren once or twice in Visions seminars. I would really appreciate efforts to sensibilize photographers to not use digital manipulation creating not true situations, but just to correct base correction as backscatter, light and contrast. Underwater photography doesn't need to be pulled out of reality. It is enough to give jewels to all amateurs! |
