Olympus C-40 zoom camera and PT-012 housing, depth rated to 40 metres.

The housing has controls for all of the cameras functions which, unlike most modern compacts, include full manual mode, Aperture and Shutter priority. The 4mp camera produces excellent results and has a useful 2.8x optical zoom. It also, again unlike most modern compacts, has an optical viewfinder which is very useful for taking shots on land in bright sunlight.

The housing has never leaked and has performed faultlessly but you are advised to use a silica gel sachet to avoid internal condensation during a dive.

The camera takes 2 x AA batteries and comes with a 128mb SmartMedia memory card which will store around 130 images at full resolution (2048 x 1536).

If you want a well specified, compact underwater camera, this package offers a very cost effective entry level system which can be expanded by adding INON adaptors and accessory lenses. The INON WL165 lens works particularly well with this housing and the results are very sharp.
